ADOPTED BY THE YEAGER FAMILY AND SOS ALUMNI DAISY (was Padme) - 10/26/24 Okra was adopted from us as a puppy and wasn't getting along with their beagle after it sneaked up on her from behind, startling her.

ADOPTED BY THE ANGELO FAMILY - 11/2/24 Rodney appears (so far) to be a relatively laid back beagle. He also has that ageless look about him, but the vets here say 1-2 yrs. old. Pearly white, slim build. We can't wait to see his coat glow with good nutrition and love. He is about 14 lbs currently and not too skinny. Rodney and his "brother" are clean in their kennel with a schedule. Recently neutered so he will probably have some learning to do. He is one of 4 found strays together and they all get along great and have met the other easily. Cats unknown, showed interest in meeting kids in passing. Contact Rayne of SOS Beagle Rescue

ADOPTED BY THE CHAPPLE/SERINO FAMILY AND K9 SISTER MILLIE - 11/11/24 Clayton is a young beagle boy, recently neutered and learning what the world has to offer. He was out leash walking today with volunteers Miranda and Jonathan. They thoroughly enjoyed his company. So far he doesn't appear to be a wild and crazy pup but time will tell as he has been through a lot. A stray wandering around, no collar, no tag, no owner beating a path to the shelter door. ADOPTED BY THE CAMPBELL FAMILY - 11/16/24 We believe Burt is Beaufort's brother but can't say for certain. He's smaller than Beaufort at 19# and hasn't tried to climb fences! Clean in his kennel. Knows a leash but needs work. Other dogs ok. Cats/kids unknown. Contact Rayne of SOS Beagle Rescue

Beaufort and Burt were surrendered by the same owner because he said he had too many dogs. Beaufort is 22# of mischief -- he can climb a chainlink fence if you are on the other side, but only because he wants to be with you. A solid vinyl/wood fence or a leash-walking situation will be required for him. Contact Rayne of SOS Beagle Rescue

ADOPTED BY THE ASHMAN FAMILY - 11/18/24 Scooter is a bit more reserved than Rodney in his people meets but friendly none the less. He too has that "dry" looking hair that speaks volumes of their previous care. With love, good nutrition and experiencing the good life Beth thinks this inquisitive, moderately active, tri boy will shine.

ADOPTED BY THE DELGADO FAMILY - 10/26/24 Hank is a black and tan beagle (mix?). He's on the small side at about 20#. Hank is a sweet little guy, a little timid at first meeting and with loud noises but he warms up to a friendly hand quickly. Especially with treats! He loves dogs and would do well with a buddy to follow in their footsteps. He has struggled with potty training at first but is getting better in group and in his kennel. ADOPTED BY THE GLEASON FAMILY - 10/14/24 Cello is a bit bossy, plays well with foster Winslow and fairly high energy. She plays with the puppy a lot and I think she'll do well in a home with another non bossy dog. She'll definitely need an adopter that's active to give her the physical and mental stimulation she needs. That said she's very smart and responds to us without hesitation so I think she would do great with training. She's quiet and clean in her crate. Doing ok with house training but still has some accidents when left to her own free will. Contact Rayne of SOS Beagle Rescue

ADOPTED BY THE BUNK FAMILY AND BEAGLE BROTHER ROLO - 11/6/24 Weeble is a small, extremely cuddly dog who is housetrained, great in a crate but is able to be trusted to roam free also. She is very laid back but will play when provoked. She travels great in the car. She has that beagle howl but uses it very sparingly. Still trying to drop a little weight, 2.75 lbs to be exact. She will make a fabulous pet to any family.

Jake is a sweet natured boy, who likes everyone and gets along well with the other dogs. He loves playing with the other fosters. He is rather low key, not noisy and easygoing. When he 1st arrived he was a little shy but he has blossomed in rescue. He is still skittish in NJ, but does not have another dog to model. Mischievous -- we've lost a couple magazine covers! He walks decently on the leash also. This beagle is sponsored by: Rob Odorisio & Robbie Young in memory of Pete and Jack Contact Linda of SOS Beagle Rescue

ADOPTED BY THE ACKERMAN FAMILY AND K9 SISTER LUCY - 11/11/24 Introducing Pumpkin. We hemmed and hawed about what and how to pronounce "essited", the name on his kennel paperwork. We finally just asked. Apparently this boy was 'excited' to be found, knowing he was gonna be safe. Heck he knew he had that chip thingy so his family should be around soon. Well, in a perfect world it would but you see his family got him chipped but no one followed up on it. The shelter tried, we tried and since it was bought other than at a vet office and they hadn't registered it, posted him lost, followed the lost/found pages or come looking for him during his extended stay he needed rescue.

Gracie has been an excellent guest this week! She is calm and gentle, but loves a good scratching and to wrestle with her squeaky toys. She takes treats politely, and (even when she's acting like you haven't fed her in days) she takes her time with her food bowl. Our beagle is a little bossy, and Gracie doesn't seem to mind. She loves to wander around the yard tracking the deer and squirrels, but those few extra pounds assure she's not catching any of them. If there is something to howl at, she'll let you know it, but for the most part she is quiet. Gracie adapted very quickly to our routine here. She is good in the crate, but has also spent extensive time with free run of the house without getting into any trouble. Contact Joan of SOS Beagle Rescue

Barney is great with people. Sometimes a little frisky with other male dogs. 26# He is a super sweet guy. Very friendly and affectionate with people. He does well in group but doesn't take kindly to being pushed around. He never starts issues but will correct the other dogs when they are too much. During his heart worm hold he figured out how to keep a clean kennel and greatly improved his leash walking skills.
